INTERNAL LABOUR PARTY ELECTIONS 2025

This year’s Labour Conference provides a crucial opportunity to challenge the Leadership on key issues. We’re pleased to announce a slate of socialist candidates ready to stand up for real Labour values.

Positions where Momentum are supporting candidates include:

National Women’s Committee

NWC Reps
Liz Martin: L1193050

Traumatic life experiences have given me an overwhelming desire to seek justice for all women; to help them discover their worth and find their voice. That is why I have mentored women for 28 years, and been a Psychotherapist for 20. Women’s conference represents that same opportunity; for women to be seen, to matter, to have value. To have a voice. That is why I will support Women’s Conference as a 2-day event, hybrid, so that it is accessible to all, and campaign for policies that have justice for women at their very core.

I have been a Labour member since 2012, and a proud member of Unite and PCU, and have served my CLP in many roles including Political Education Officer, Media and Communications Officer, Trade Union Rep and Branch Secretary. I have attended National and Women’s conference on numerous occasions as delegate and staffer and have experience as a Party staffer.

I am proud to have the support of the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance and Momentum.

Please also support Rathi Guhadasan (L1362546), Jean Crocker (L1306356), Zoe Allan (L1393044), Caoimhe Ni Dhonaill (L1964420) and Sandra Wyman (L1640558).

Caoimhe Ni Dhonaill: L1964420

So many issues that face us today as a country have a profound effect on women in particular: insufficient mental health care and adult social care, a benefit system that leaves many in poverty, the lack of good quality, affordable housing, and the casualisation of the workforce and the eroding of the rights of workers. The Women’s Conference is an important opportunity for all Labour women to discuss these and other critical voices. I will work to ensure that women from across Labour have their voices heard, especially those that have been historically marginalised – intersectional feminism is key to a successful party.

I am a trade unionist, and am the Equalities Officer in my workplace branch of Unite. I’m also Women’s Officer in Ely and East Cambridgeshire CLP. I sit on my local parish council where I chair the personnel, finance and governance committee, and since my appointment to this role, we have joined the White Ribbon Pledge and become a Disability Confident Employer.

I am proud to have the support of the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance. Please also support Rathi Guhadasan (L1362546), Jean Crocker (L1306356), Zoe Allan (L1393044), Liz Martin (L1193050) and Sandra Wyman (L1640558).

Jean Crocker: L1306356

Labour Women’s voices must be heard and acted on. I’ll work for engagement of the National Women’s Committee (NWC) with Women’s Branches and Forums, to hear their views, needs and successes, so that NWC’s activities and recommendations to the Party are informed by them. I’ll seek website information on setting up Women’s Branches, and the establishment of more Regional Women’s Committees.

On the Women’s Conference Arrangements Committee seven years (Vice-Chair for two), I’m committed to a two-day, hybrid, democratic, diverse, accessible, networking Women’s Conference where women speak passionately for policies based in their life experiences. NWC oversees the Conference; if elected I’ll continue the struggle for this.

I’ll be available to women members.

  • Member, Disability Labour.
  • Gateshead Central and Whickham CLP: currently Women’s Branch Secretary, Branch Vice-Chair, CLP Executive.
  • Co-Vice-Chair, Campaign for Labour Party Democracy; Committee member, Labour Women Leading.
  • University and College Union: campaigned successfully for the precariously employed, including many women; Chair Anti-Casualisation Committee; Disabled Members’ Committee and NEC.
  • Member, Unite Community.

Proud of support from Centre Left Grassroots Alliance. Please also support Zoe Allan (L1393044), Rathi Guhadasan (L1362546), Liz Martin (L1193050), Caoimhe Ni Dhonaill (L1964420) and Sandra Wyman (L1640558).

Rathi Guhadesan: L1362546

I am the National Chair of the Socialist Health Association, a Labour affiliate, having previously served as Vice Chair and London Branch Secretary and led on areas of policy development such as maternity care. I have held CLP and ward officer positions and been CLP and SHA delegate to Labour Party Women’s and Annual Conference.

I am committed to reinstatement of a publicly provided national health service. Women remain disadvantaged in many areas of society, from work and pensions to healthcare. Mothers, babies and families continue to be failed and let down by a broken system which doesn’t listen to women. If elected, I would work to highlight these causes and promote policies that address root causes of these problems through intersectoral approaches. This would include advocating for a stand-alone 2-day Women’s Conference so that these issues can be properly debated by the thousands of brilliant women in the Labour movement. I will endeavour to represent the grassroots of our Labour movement and be accountable and transparent to members.

I’m proud to be supported by the Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance (CLGA). Please also support Zoe Allan (L1393044), Jean Crocker (L1306356), Liz Martin (L1193050), Caoimhe Ni Dhonaill (L1964420) and Sandra Wyman (L1640558).

Zoe Allan: L1393044

I joined the Party in 2015 and have been a delegate to National Women’s Conference, a CLP Rep on the National Policy Forum, Chair of my Unite Community branch, served on the Unite Wales Labour Liaison Committee, have had several roles within my CLP (Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe in Wales) including Acting Secretary, Policy Officer and am now its Political Education Officer.

As an intersectional feminist and a disabled woman myself, I believe in achieving equality by means of socialism. Women and the most vulnerable in society shouldn’t be the victims of austerity politics, but we are too often at the sharp end of belt-tightening policies.

Our voices are habitually ignored, making spaces such as National Women’s Conference essential. It must return to being a two day, standalone event and if elected, I would work with others to fulfil this again. I would also use the platform to campaign for wealth taxes rather than austerity 2.0 and for our Party to uphold international law.

I am proud to be supported by the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance and Welsh Labour Grassroots.

Please also support Rathi Guhadasan (L1362546), Jean Crocker (L1306356), Liz Martin (L1193050), Caoimhe Ni Dhonaill (L1964420) and Sandra Wyman (L1640558).

Sandra Wyman: L1640558

I prioritise inclusiveness and intersectionality. I am pleased to have been involved in researching the language and training needs of migrant women in Leeds and in work on domestic violence, representing Leeds LEA on Leeds Inter Agency Project and as initiator of NUT policy carried forward by others when I had to take ill health retirement.

Having attended both two/day zoom and one-day in person Womens Conferences I would strongly support the return to a two day Conference preferably in hybrid format allowing more women to participate.

Conference Arrangements Committee

CAC Reps
CLP Section
Jack Ballingham: L1766555

I have been an active Party member for over six years, and have served as a CLP officer for most of this time. From 2022 to 2024, I represented young members in my region on the Party’s National Policy Forum, and I was elected in 2025 to my local Regional Executive Committee.

I have been a delegate to annual and regional conferences on multiple occasions – I know how important it is for delegates to feel confident and included. As a CAC rep, I would fight particularly for conference to be accessible and welcoming to delegates of all backgrounds, especially for women, young members, and BAME, disabled and LGBT+ delegates.

At this time, it is crucial that delegates have their voice heard and hold our new government to account. As a CAC rep, I would fight to ensure this is possible. I believe strongly in fairness, transparency and accountability, and I will report back to members and make sure their views are reflected in how conference is run.

I am proud to be supported by Momentum and the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance, and hope delegates and CLPs will support myself and Jean Crocker in this election.

Jean Crocker: L1306356

On CAC I’d do everything I can for CLPs to be heard at a Conference which is democratic in all its processes

After seven years on Women’s CAC (Vice-Chair two years), I understand the pitfalls for members.

I’d seek:

to provide transparent guidance on writing motions, to help navigatethe current considerable constraints to stay ‘in order
time for elected CAC members to read the motions and make considered decisions without over-reliance on Party advice
a fair and impartial grouping of motions into topic areas
emphasis in compositing meetings that it is elected delegates alonewho decide the wording of the composite motion to be debated, not anyone who may come to give advice

I’d argue for comments from disabled members to be taken on board as without accessibility there’s no democracy.

I’d be available to answer members’ queries and listen to suggestions.

Gateshead Central and Whickham CLP: Women’s Branch Secretary, Branch Vice-Chair, CLP Executive.
Member, Disability Labour.
At every Annual Conference in a decade
University and College Union: campaigned successfully for the precariously employed; Chair Anti-Casualisation Committee; Disabled Members’ Committee; NEC.
I am glad to be supported by the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance. Please also support Jack Ballingham.

Disabled Members Section
Barbara Roberts: L1176388

I’m a 63 year-old disabled working class socialist, having been born with disabilities, and I have worked as a nurse in various NHS hospital departments.

I joined the Labour Party in 2011 and am an active member of Hackney South and Shoreditch CLP, where I’ve been the CLP Disability Officer for several years. I’m one of the vice chairs of the Socialist Health Association and am an executive committee member of Disability Labour.

Labour’s National Conference is an integral part of the calendar for members. As a regular disabled attendee, I’ve frequently encountered problems which prohibit full participation due to accessibility issues, including trip hazards, lack of ramps and working lifts, incorrect BSL signage and auto-captioning of the speakers.

As your disabled CAC representative I would work hard with the CAC to address such issues, and would be available for disabled Conference goers to address any other needs they have. My goal would be to create, by adhering to the social model of disability, a welcoming, accessible, safe environment to be in.

I am proud to be supported by the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance.

National Constitutional Committee

NCC Reps
Nicodemus Leo: L3125396

I believe any Labour Party worth its name should prioritise and promote fairness in working class people’s lives. To do this, the party should apply fairness to its internal policies too.

To this end, we must create a transparent, democratic, member-led process for creating and implementing policy, nationally and locally. This includes policy in areas of disciplinary process, manifesto creation, and representative selection. I’m committed to this mission.

I became a trade unionist to bring justice to people’s working lives. The Labour Party is the vehicle for achieving this justice politically and I’m a member of Labour to have a say in how this is achieved.

I have served as Branch Secretary and Chair at Unite. I’d love to bring the skills gained to the Labour party structures. I have direct experience of canvassing and organising locally in my CLP and am a skilled Project Manager with experience organising and building teams. I also have spent most of my career working in the not-for-profit sector with and for minority groups and people with disabilities.

I am proud to be supported by the Centre Left Grassroots Alliance and Momentum. Please also support Dave Levy and Rachel Garnham.

Dave Levy: A006829

I am seeking your support to sit on our Party’s NCC.

I promise that I will act with fairness and consider all the evidence on any cases on which I sit.

I believe that our rules should be interpreted in the context of UK and human rights law and that the principles of natural justice must be maintained and offered to all members.

I joined the party in 1974. Since moving to Lewisham in 2010, I have held a number of positions in my CLP, LCF & branch, having been intermittently Secretary of the CLP & LCF over that time. I have acted as a workers’ companion for the last eighty years which gives me a lot of experience in assessing cases of bullying and discrimination. I have been trained in employment and equality law.

I am a member of CLPD and have authored and campaigned for many rule changes to make the party accountable to its members.

I am supported by the CLGA and would ask you to vote for me, and my running mates, Nicodemus Leo and Rachel Garnham.

Rachel Garnham: A777413

Disciplinary processes must be transparent, accountable and fair to grassroots members and trade unionists.

In my three years on Labour’s National Executive Committee I fought for the principles of natural justice to be applied within Labour’s disciplinary processes. The right for those accused to have clear, timely information, to have the opportunity to put their case, and a genuine right to appeal appear too often absent, with procedures politically motivated with the left targeted for exclusion.

I’m very concerned about equity in Labour’s disciplinary processes. It is troubling to hear how many Jewish people who support Palestinian human rights are reported to have been excluded from membership, and I am concerned about fair treatment for disabled members, older members and those with mental health conditions. The Forde report exposed serious failings and should have led to greater improvement.

If elected, I pledge to uphold the rulebook, reject factionalism and apply the principles of natural justice.

I’m an experienced activist, Labour Party member for 30 years, member of UCU, Socialist Health Association and Socialist Education Association. I’ve participated in many disciplinary hearings and always been scrupulous in fair application of the rules. Please also support Dave Levy and Nicodemus Leo.
