Labour Conference 2025
Last updated 13/08/25
It is crucial that the left is represented at Labour Conference to make the case for transformative policies: from tackling child poverty to condemning the atrocities in Gaza. Last year Conference voted to repeal cuts to Winter Fuel Payments and the Leadership was forced to withdraw an anti-migrant motion due to opposition from trade union and CLP delegates. It showed how important it is for socialists and progressive to represent their CLPs.
This year’s Conference is scheduled to take place in Liverpool from Sunday 28 September to Wednesday 1 October.
Momentum will also be hosting a joint fringe event in collaboration with the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy. Find out more details here.
Were you elected as a delegate?
To challenge Starmer’s reactionary agenda – we want to hear from you! Please let us know if you, or someone else you know, was elected as a CLP delegate this year. Keep us informed by filling out our form here.
Contemporary Motions and Rule Changes
Below you’ll find contemporary motions that we’re putting forward to Conference alongside campaign groups Open Labour, Compass, Labour for Trans Rights and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. You’ll also find our recommended rule changes.
CLPs can submit either one contemporary motion or one rule change by Thursday 11th September. Six motions from the CLP section can be debated at Conference, as well as six motions supported by affiliates. CLPs that decide to submit a contemporary motion must wait until the publication of that report before submitting.
Internal Elections
We’re pleased to announced a slate of socialist candidates that we’re backing for key positions this year. You can check them out below. All these positions will be elected by delegates at Labour Conference. A full list of all the positions that are up for election this year including a full timetable can be found the Labour Party web page here.
